What photo editing programme do you all use/recommend?

Hey Matt,
I always used to swear by paint shop pro until i totally understood what I was doing, now days you'll find me buried in Photoshop CS3.

For Freeware I believe GIMP is pretty good - long time since I used it

Gimp 2 was very good and free :

being a graphic design photoshop CS3 is the only tool i would ever use!

I fiddle with PAINT.net - it's essentially a freeware photoshop without some of the hardcore tricky features.
