What size alloys i've spent the morning cleaning and waxing my fab 1.4 16v x reg. it looks great but would look better with alloys. i've been looking on net for alloys and tyres package deals but i'm not to sure what size to go for ?? also would my insurance be a lot more (i'm 30 and 9yrs no claims) ? seen then in Halfords and Motor World so are they easy to fit by yourself or shall i goto a specialist? thanks

Anything upto 17" will be fine but really if you go that large you need to lower it as it will look really high. Your insurance shouldnt be affected that much you are of a decent age and have a fair whack of no claims behind you (maximum same as me).How about getting some second hand alloys, some Fabia vRS alloys would look good, allways a few sets going on here as people upgrade. Just about any 5 x 100 VAG wheel will fit.

If your going to get the Octavia alloys be aware that your speedo will be incorrect. I wouldnt pay more that £100 for a set of 14" alloys with the wrong size tyres on.

Octavia tyres are larger in diameter than on the Fabia. This means the rolling radius is greater.
