| Briskodian | can anyone here help me im doing the front wheel bearing on a 2003 fabia 1.4 16v and im wondering what size and type is the socket for taking the nut of the end of the c/v joint the one that comes through the bearing and hub it looks to me as if i would get away with using a twelve point socket of around 36mm or there abouts i know this is not the correct tool so i woul appreciate if anyone can tell me the name or where to source this socket i noticed while changin the ball joint the nut in question is marked VW so any help would be appreciated cheers ALEX M |

| Re: What Socket For Removing Nut From End Of Fabia Cv Joint A 36mm 12 sided socket is the correct tool. Nuts are one use only and must be torqued up correctly and not over tightened. |

| Re: What Socket For Removing Nut From End Of Fabia Cv Joint The front bearing by rights should be removed and inserted using the correct puller as this avoids damaging the bearing and also makes sure it is pushed in the correct amount so the ABS sender lines up in the bearing. ![]() Or this can happen (a car from a non Skoda garage with an ABS issue) bearing not inserted fully ![]() ![]() Torque setting is 50nm + 45 degrees. |
