What type of service??

Hi there, I am a bit confused with the servicing schedule that I should adopt with my Fabia vRS.

I will reach 10,000 miles after about 10 months or so and can't work out whether I get the "lube" service and then a couple of months later get the annual inspection.

Or do I get both done after the 10 months and just do the same every 10,000 miles and forget about the 12 months thing?

Thanks

Get them both done I'd say. Else youll have to book again for work that could be done at the same time and I believe some work is on both so you'll save money.

I'm begining to think tis easier to get them both done at same time unless you are doing very high annual millage.

Servicing schedule states. 10,000 miles is oil change. 20,000 miles or 12 months is full service.

In the case thats been asked about it would be a good idea to try and get them to do a full service.

If you were to do 10,000 miles in 8 months you would need to book it in again for a full service four months later.

It's really based on doing 20,000 miles a year.

Not sure what engine you've got but on the PD diesels (if your not on variable servicing) the services alternate e.g. -

10,000mls = oil service
20,000mls = full service
30,000mls = oil service
40,000mls = full service
and so on untill you require the cambelt replacing then continue the alternating services

So in summary (if you have a PD) you should just get it serviced every 10,000mls and not worry about the annual service as you will be doing a slightly above average mileage, The annual service only applies to people doing less than 10,000mls a year, most people average around 12,000mls per year so if you are having your 10,000mls service then supplementing it with an annual service your dealer is mugging you big time!

Skoda website states 10,000 miles Lube/oil change service at 10,000 miles then full service at 20,000 miles or 12 months, whichever is sooner

Yes, that means 12 months max between each service - regardless of type.

You would not be expected to have the 20,000 service (full) untill 10,000mls or 12months AFTER the 10,000 service, it's quite clear in the sevice book if you read it properly (just checked mine & the courtesy car fabia 1.2 one as well) (for vehicles on fixed schedule services not variable)

You need to have an annual service each year The annual service comprises an inspection plus an oil change. This means that the 10k service becomes a "full" service (ie oil change + inspection) if you only do 10k miles a year.

If you do 20k miles a year then you don't need to have 2 annual services so you can have the annual service done at 20k miles and just a lube service done at 10k miles.
