| i was giving the car some beans on the motorway when all of a sudden i lost all boost! no warning lights came on the dash so i pulled off the motorway and turned the engine off. i waited for a couple of seconds and turned it back on. now its ok . ive just recently put a pd160 intake on and i cut the restrictive bit out today. could this have something to do with it?daz ![]()

| Re: whats happened? Its an over boost fault, it happens from time to time, especially when crusing on light throttle. It has been covered at great length by both myself and Neo_VR hence me sugesting a search. Never actually got to the bottom of it, happens on std and remapped cars. |

| Re: whats happened? Yep overboost, you must have been caneing it! Sometimes you can get it back by just coming off the throttle, wait a few seconds and thn back on. Other times needs a full reset and restart of the engine. In mine I know when I get close because can feel the engine power "fluttering" just before it goes into overboost and shuts off. But I know that this in general is way in excess of the national limit and usually only in the winter when its colder, and can generate more boost than usual. Have fun...... Andy

Yikes, then you'd have no power assisted steering , and no servo assisted brakes , if it was dark you would have no headlights , and incredible brown trousers Not overly keen on this idea ![]()

| Re: whats happened? no PAS is not a big deal at the implied speed ![]() Brakes wise you should have plenty of braking assistance left as you should be able to do an emergency stop on the reserve pressure, it doesn't instantly 'go'. Headlights would be a big problem though as the Xenons would be off ![]() I've not had this problem but if it happened I'd put on the blinkers and pull of the road asap to restart safely. Unless you're trying to outrun the law I'd go for that ![]()
