wheely need some help

i`m thinking about buying some vrs alloys for my standard fabia. does it make any difference to the car with respect to speed braking acceleration or does it affect the speedometer in any way, cause if it does i dont really think i can be bothered. my knowledge on these things is obviously minimal.

p.s, i assume furbie refers to fabia, or is it just the vrs?

I've got some on eBay Have a little search....

Won't make any difference to speedo, might improve your braking as they'll be more tyre gripping the road? Acceleration may be affected slightly but I don't honestly think it'll be noticeable.

depends whats on the car at the moment if you have 14" steels the 16" alloys will be heavier so acceleration and braking will suffer but whether it would be noticable is another thing.

incedentally 312mm brakes slow your accelration down too they weigha ton

I changed 14" steels to 16" vrs alloys. Initially I felt poorer acceleration, but after couple of week the ECU might has adapted itself thus I feel the acceleration is not as bad as it was ( might because I get used to put my foot down more than I were, who knows). 4th and 5th gears are now more sensitive with slope, so be prepared for some long uphills. However, I feel much safer driving at high speed or under pouring rain, I do surprise how well my Fabia corner too! I personally think 16" alloys brake better than 14" steel, as I feel my Fabia doesn't dive as deep as it was.

Most importantly, my girlfriend didn't like my Fabia, said it was ugly, but not any more after fitting Vrs alloys. In fact now she feel Fabia look so much better than many other cars on the road!!!

My wifes Silverline Estate came with 14" alloys. It now proudly sit's on my vRS wheels.
The ride quality is far better and it holds the road better at speed!

My son swapped his 14" alloys for 16" furbie vrs wheels, made quite a difference to the handling and didn't really affect performance or mpg
And the car looks much better

I think they look spot on - even from the unfeasibly small attached picture!

You should find some pics on here somewhere of non-vRS models with these wheels fitted...
