| Who was it baiting my mate in his Atom on Snake Pass then ? Just heard from my mate with an Ariel Atom 300+ that he had a Furby baiting him on Snake Pass recently. He was genuinely surprised at how quick it was too Twisty country roads aren't an Atoms natural environment and he openly admits that his old Scoob was quicker there, but on track it is astounding. Well done whoever it was impressed him though HIS POST ![]()

| Re: Who was it baiting my mate in his Atom on Snake Pass then ? According to my mate, the stiff suspension and rigid chassis, coupled with extremely light weight make it twitchy. Any mid-bend bumps whilst on power can create instant slides which take skill and speed to catch and correct. The Scoob on the other hand soaks up such surfaces and AWD makes applying the excess power easy and controllable. On track it is indeed awesome, and when we followed the said same Scoobs there it was like following a bunch of Grandads in Rovers, and once past they were not seen again until we lapped them again very soon after. I found it similar to when I over-stiffened the coilovers on my Scoob for track. The car was nervous and easy to break loose with little provocation. A couple of clicks down on the AST's and control was regained.

| Re: Who was it baiting my mate in his Atom on Snake Pass then ? Trust me, Dazza doesn't do "slowly", he's amongst the quickest drivers I know and being active in the performance community for some years I know some rapid guys. The Atom is a focussed tool, and in being so it isn't always suitable for every task. You wouldn't use a surgical scalpel to carve a Sunday roast ! His reply is a couple of posts down on the link I posted at the top. Some of his vids HERE
