I haven't noticed mine doing that although the sweep does seem to touch the very outer edge...

Get the dealer to look at it for you, if it continually does that then surely it's gonna chip away at the paint on the a-pillar...

Operate the wipers whilst spraying the window with water (hose etc.) and see where it's likely to be touching. I know it only does it when driving, probably the force of air pushing it further but it'll give you an idea...

You may find that the airfoil on the driver's side wiper is actually hitting the passenger's side wiper arm as it sweeps to the nearside. On my wife's Fabia this happened in heavy rain and on the high speed wiper setting. If you look at the wipers when they are parked you will see that the airfoil is very close to the arm; it might even be touching it. The cure was to slightly re-adjust the position of both wipers on their splines and to file a bit off the airfoil.

i had the exact same problem, got really annoyed and took the car to the dealer, turns out my blades were Bosch aftermarket blades and about 10 mm longer than the VAG stamped blades, changed them, and i must admit it is better but im styill not happy with how close the wipers come to the A pillar
