| Fabia 3 1.4 16v Hello again everyone, last year I bought a new Superb and it is still just that ....superb. However it is now the turn of my wife and she wants to buy a new Fabia 3 1.4 16v hatchback...you know the one with white roof and blue body. The annual mileage will be about 5000. The car is pre-registered with 7 miles on the clock. The asking price is £9995 a deal or not? how do you rate the car. Thanks for your advice and comments in advance. | Re: Fabia 3 1.4 16v I had a 1.4 16v Roomster on a 48hr test and I thought the engine was a bit guttless to be honest.........Not driven a fabia with that engine but they reckon the 1.4 diesel is the on to go for

| Re: Fabia 3 1.4 16v I've a 1.4 16v Fabia estate, it's no Gti, but it does okay. In Wales, we covered 1000 miles and the car was returning 48 mpg laden and up to 55 mpg unladen. Yes, you do have to select the appropriate gear to get the performance, but that also allows some good fuel economy when on longer runs on uncluttered roads. If you're used to a diesel, the engine will feel gutless, but for the sort of driving I do on country lanes in Hertfordshire's undulating countryside, it does just fine. I did my test drive with a sales guy in the passenger seat and my 22 stone husband in the back, that was a reasonably good test.

| Re: Fabia 3 1.4 16v Thanks Jo. I am sure it will be fine and it looks a little dream with its little white roof and blue body with lovely Ivory interior . Considering we support Chester City FC who play in blue and white and are greekophiles the colour is very appropriate![]() |

| Briskodian | Re: Fabia 3 1.4 16v Is it a deal? with metallic and white roof list price is about £12,200, so under 10k has got to be good. But it's obvious you really want it, and it will look brilliant. The Chester city bit is a bonus! Enjoy! |

| Re: Fabia 3 1.4 16v The only criticism of storm blue - it does show up the muddy splashes beautifully, but it's beautiful in the sunlight. The level 3 is great - climate control is a real boon. The spectacle holder in the roof was a useful surprise, as was the variable speed setting for the intermittent wipers (I notice this feature is even on the Level 1). We found the headlamps to be really good when we were up in Wales. Made our Astra's lights seem like candles by comparison. The seat and steering have lots of adjustment, so it's worth going to the trouble of finding your ideal driving position. Even if the passenger seat is height adjustable, so you can raise it for a better view or to make life easier for an older/disabled passenger. Enjoy the new car!
