Fabia Estate Sport in UK?

I notice from the Skoda worldwide website that there is a Sport version of the Fabia Combi (Estate) available in other territories. Check out the PDF catalogue at NewFabiaCombiCatalogue.

They also show the Sports seats as being available as an option, and very nice they look too on page 24.

Why are Skoda UK holding out on us? I don't see why they are not offering the Sport in the UK, with our known liking for sporty versions of cars, but even if they don't offer the Sport model, why not at least offer the Sports seats? I don't find the standard seats supportive enough and would love to have Sports seats - personally I would get a 3 with Sports seats like a shot. Maybe I need to find a dealer on the continent who can order this combination for me?

The other main thing that I am concerned about with the Fabia is that I find it under-damped, something which has been mentioned here in other posts by a number of people. I think the springs are fine, and I wouldn't really want to compromise ground clearance that much by lowering the car too much (maybe up to 20mm might be OK). But poor damping is pretty unacceptable to me and so I would prefer to be able to buy a car with Skoda-specified (and warranted) "Sports" suspension which for me would involve better damping and possibly slightly lowered suspension, maybe a la the Greenline model.

So how about it? What do others think?

They had a Bohemia in the Mk1 which was essentially a Sport, so keep an eye out for that trim level resurfacing too!

would love the 1.4tfsi in 125bhp format as well, especially in the hatch, would be sub 9 second 0-60 if you take into account the weight advantage over the golf!!

Re: Fabia Estate Sport in UK?

It's not the purely cosmetic bodykit I'm interested in (doesn't look that different anyway to my eyes), it's the Sports seats.

New Member - just joined.

I'm looking at getting a Fabia Estate later in the year but would really like a Sport version if they do one.

Must admit I don't like the trim options currently available and love the Sport Hatch looks so keeping fingers crossed!

I own a Satin grey fabia 1.9 deisel estate,it has a sports interior and 16" "a" wheels.Very good seats
in Norway they are available a Ambient, sport,Elegance, not sure about the
greenline.Strange it is not available in the UK. Incidentally Skoda is now at the top of list of the companies with most satisfied customers having ousted Toyota's 3 year reign.Apparently sales have increased by 150% in a year.I think the new fabia helped.

Re: Fabia Estate Sport in UK?

The estate version (I have a diesel estate) is much better in the suspension dept. I guess in order to carry the extra loads it's been given slightly stiffer suspenders. I throw mine about with gay abandon on country roads. Now...when I came to do that on the same roads with the hatch (a petrol1.4) it was much less comfortable in as much as it did roll more when pressed very hard. But, I would add it was still ok and not in anyway dangerous, or even unacceptable, but was noticeable.
