Personall you can do the oil change and filters for about £50. Not hard at all. A stamp means noting these days as I can easily get hold of a Audi garage stamp. Try it yourself next time and save yourself some cash untill its cambelt time

These service charges are a complete rip-off. A good independent won't charge you more than £45 for an oil/filter change - at the very most!

I keep with the main dealer while the car is in warranty then after that a good independent will do.

YOu don't need to do that. You can go to Kwik-Fit for a £25 oil change and NOT invalidate your 3-year warranty. Or have a regular service. Recent EU rules.

It might not invalidate the 1st two years of the warranty but the 3rd year warranty might be slightly different. I know it was with Fiat because the 3rd year is down to the garage and not Skoda/VAG.

Re: First 10k service 1.9TDI

If you do get it serviced outside the dealer network you would need proof that everything has been done using OEM parts and the correct oil etc IIRC.

That plus you would have to use a VAT registered garage with a VAT receipt and have fun fighting skoda.
