| Re: Front fogs My DIY ![]() I've bought pair of fog lamps and plastic frames. Power was taken directly from the battery via relais, fuse and button (which located under the steering wheel - not an original headlight switch, cause it's expensive). I hope the pics will help.... Plastic covers and codes (A pair costs 10 Euro) 5J0 853 665 5J0 853 666 ![]() I've found original fog lights but you can also buy VW transporter fog lights. They are same.. Skoda original fog lights (Pair price - 35 Euro / HB4 bulbs included) (also same with old Fabia's with facelift) 7E0 941 699 7E0 941 700 T5 VW Transporter original fog lights 7H0 941 699 7H0 941 700 ![]() ![]() Finally ![]() ![]() And after small touch-up ![]() ![]() And here is the fog light bay... ![]() ![]()

| Briskodian | Re: Front fogs Just make sure you don't look like a plonker by using them when there isn't any fog... BTW, the right way to use them when there is fog is to switch off the headlamps (ie just parking lamps) and switch on the fog lamps instead. That way the fog lamps do what they're supposed to do, which is illuminate the road without any glare coming back at you. This assumes that they are aimed correctly, ie at the road and not into oncoming driver's eyes, which is the main reason (apart from the fact that it looks stupid) that people swear at plonkers who use them when there's no need! |

| Re: Front fogs In a near future I'll buy an original switch and fog lights will be wired over relais... ![]() TBH, fog lamps look cool, no matter if they are connnected or not. I guess I look from the esthetical side... ![]() ![]() ![]()

| Briskodian | Re: Front fogs I've just changed my front fog light bulbs to all weather ones (yellowish tint) as I often encounter a lot of mist and fog where I work. I searched the UK for all weather ones but couldn't find any in the bulb size 9006 that the fog lights accept. In the end I got them from the USA via this site www.hoen-usa.com and they only take 7-10 days to arrive. I have a spare set of the all weather ones. If anyone wants them send me a PM and I will sell at a good price. See also earlier replies to this thread for installation. Its quite easy. |
