It's pulling to the left!!!

Hello there
My first posting.

I recently bought a brand new Fabia Sport 08 1.2L.
When i drove it out from the dealer it's been pulling to the left ever since. I let my hands off the steering and it shoots off.

I've been to the dealer 3 times and they said there is no problem and could be camber on the road. 'I don't think so, not when i drove all over the South East' The manager drove it and he said it was fine too.

They could do a four wheel alignment. If they don;t find anything, they will charge me.

I've tried swapping tyres around, but still the same.

Has anybody have this problem?
I think i will take it to another dealer to have a look!

They all do that. No really, they do. Obviously, I can't say if yours is actually wrong, but all UK RHD cars do pull slightly left hands off.

I'm not sure. I drive my dad's Honda Accord, it's easier to keep a straight line having my hands off than on. Had a Rover 45 before, similar problem, but managed to get it fixed. The loan car and test car both had same probs.

Have you checked your tyre pressures?

Good point; I'd suggest checking tyre pressures cold, and using a proper pencil gauge, not a garage airline.

Isn't ESP supposed to avoid the car pulling to the left?

Why should it? The pull I'm talking about is a geometric issue, designed to take you gently into the kerb if you nod off at the wheel. ESP is supposed to keep the car aimed the way you've told it in high speed cornering.

Re: It's pulling to the left!!!

Think mine has a very slight pull to the left - after 22,000 miles had the front tyres replaced and the guys who did it checked the tracking and said it was all fine. Wear on the tyres was even so had assumed all was ok.

Driving home from work did occur to me that a slightl pull to the left could be a 'design' feature - as Ken says - stops you going to the right if you nod off.

Re: It's pulling to the left!!!

Checked the pressures..All ok.

It could be a feature on small cars, as larger cars does not seem to have this problem.

If I have time I'll take it to another dealer to have there say. As I still believe it's a mechanical problem.

But will check the wear on the tyre when the time comes.
