| Re: A-pillar trim recall Just booked mine in. You'll have to wait a while for an update though - I need a courtesy car so it's not in until 1st October! ![]() |

| Re: A-pillar trim recall My nearside trim started coming adrift just before the August Bank Holiday. The rubber bits aren't coming adrift as such, if you look closely, the trim is actually splitting with part remaining behind the A pillar. Replacements for both sides are now on back order. Hopefully they will arrive in time for the first service. The off-side failed just days after taking delivery. Who knows, maybe they'll turn up while the car's with them having a misfire on cylinder 1 rectified. In the meantime, I'm stuck with a bright yellow Fabia 1 with the 1.2 engine. I'm assured by my dealer that they are cosmetic things only.

| Re: A-pillar trim recall My trim started to come away first but I managed to clip that back on and so far, it's still on. Was quite surprised that it was just a simple piece of plastic trim with push clips like you see inside a car! |

| Re: A-pillar trim recall Mine came off a couple of months ago, I can't see a little strip like that being vital to the car. 3675 |

| Re: A-pillar trim recall I too have lost the O/S bottom 'A' pillar trim. I'm sure it came off just after we got the car because I'm sure I noticed a small increase in wind noise at between 60-70mph. Not much but just detectable (if you use specialist listening gear and bash your head down into the right hand side of the dash whilst steering with your foot!!). Mine is not quite 3 months old. I'll let my dealer know. ![]()

| Re: A-pillar trim recall Funnily enough Roomster and Fabia ones are interchangable although they have different part numbers.Skoda seem to have a problem with these as they are listed as back orders, most probably Skoda know they're faulty, have a big demand for them and normally change the supplier for better quality ones. The same is happening to the ignition coils of the 1.2 models, the firts ones were made in Italy, the modified ones in Turkey and now they're back order again, changed the part numbers and most probably the supplier as well.

| Re: A-pillar trim recall Took my car in today and they've now ordered replacement seals for both sides. Apparently, the seal is like a big rubber gasket that sits behind the A pillar trim, one piece all round the edge. They reckon the seals will be in soon and have booked me back in for next Tuesday. They said the little bit at the bottom isn't vital as far as they can tell. Probably there more to reduce wind noise and improve aerodynamics (slightly!). Will update again next week. |

| Re: A-pillar trim recall Took it back in today for the replacement seals - was told when I got there that they only had one. When I came to pick it up that one turned out to be a part from the interior of the A pillar and the actual parts required were on back order. The guy on the parts desk said that Skoda would arrange for some to be picked off the production line so should take about 3 days to come in. Both the service manager and myself are a little sceptical of this and aren't holding our breath! In the meantime, they sent a technician out with a stanley knife to remove the floppy bits of rubber! Wait and see now I guess. |
