Cube van to Pick up? I've recently bought a cheap Felicia Cube van and I just wondered how difficult it would be to convert it into a pickup. The top has some bolts which look easy enough to remove and release the roof. As far as I can see the rear van doors aren't fixed to the truck body. I've seen a pick-up tailgate for sale at Butts of Bawtry so would I be able to convert? i imagine I'd have to get some hinges for the tailgate and some plastic trim to go round the top of the load bay 'walls' when the roof is removed. Is there anything else to consider?

| ECUless | Re: Cube van to Pick up? Be warned the plastic trim is not cheap or even reasonably priced. I have been told that when you remove them they tend to break, which will also rule out a used set. If it has a pod on the roof of the cab, it will be quite well stuck on. |

Re: Cube van to Pick up? The plastic trim isn't fitted to al vehicles. I priced a full set up for the fun and it come to over £500 and half of it was back ordered with no release date.

Re: Cube van to Pick up? Thanks for the replies. the Cube is in the garage at the minute having a service. The engine has a slight oil leak and the cooling fan isn't working. The garage bloke says that these 1.9D engines tend to leak anyway. It hasn't left a large pool of oil on the road just a film of oil on the engine. The service history doesn't exist so I'm thinking of telling the garage to just change the Cam belt anyway. the guy who owned it before me said he'd removed the cam belt cover and the tensioner looked shiney and new so he didn't bother changing it. I'm still undecided whether to convert the bugger to a pick up. Twould be more practical for carrying long bits of wood (I like carrying long bits of wood). I'd have to consider fitting a bar to the rear of the cab roof to rest the long bits of wood on. And also there's no little hooks on the body to attach a tarp to cover the load bay.

Re: Cube van to Pick up? God No. It's a complete shed. the skoda badge on the Bow is held on by a wood screw. If Mrs R recovers somewhat from her teatment, i may well bring the (work)horse along. I'm a bit worried about the distance it has to cover though. ![]()
