Default Favorit battery clamp (bolts snapped)

The two bolts on my Favorit battery clamp have been snapped off for ages and have been held on using 3 of these

which has actually worked quite well and they rarely work loose, and only attracted an MOT advisory notice once.

I was wondering if anyone else's battery clamp bolts had suffered the same fate and had any better suggestions on clamping the battery in.

The heads of the bolts snapped off leaving the threaded bit stuck in. There appears to be nuts welded to the underside of the tray. Guess I've got nothing to lose by trying to drill them out - but not sure there's enough clearance to put a nut and bolt through on the left with the welded nut in place as the brake servo bracket is directly beneath it.
