I believe a good place to start would be to clean the throttle body with carb cleaner.

dies no matter what the temp is at.doesnt seem to have been very well serviced as its done this since i got it. just used carb cleaner and cleaned out that air pipe that sits inbehind the main air pipe and then took battery off to reset the throttle bodies as one of the threads explained. 190 quid actually i thought it was a bargain 4 a van [its got the fibre glass cube back on it see] that only needed a hand brake cable and a brke pipe 4 the test.

RESULT!!!!!!!!! ONLY FOLLOWED BOTTLE INSTRUCTIONS TO CLEAN TB'S. THIS TIME THO I MANUALLY CLEANED THE THROTTLE BODIES WIH A TOOTH BRUSH DIPPED IN CARB CLEANER TILL IT WAS SHINING. TIGHTENED THE SLACK IN THE THROTTLE CABLE AND NOW SHES TICKIN OVER LIKE A MOUSE CHEWIN PAPER.[THINK IT WAS THE TB CLEAN THAT MADE THE DIFFERENCE.

CHEERS NEWMAN BUDDY 4 THE TIP.
