| Briskodian | What should revs be at Tickover??? I have only had my Felicia Gli 1.3 mpi for a couple of days and I'm loving it! Cracking little car for the money (£700 for a T-reg with 36k and FSH), pulls very well for a little engine and handles superbly. Having now sorted my one problem (Couldn't shut me bonnet) I am turning my attention to some wonderments. My car ticks over at about 600 which seems a little low. It doesn't judder or stutter, but Is that the norm and if not, is it easy to adjust up? The stereo reception is a bit cack and I only have 4 presets for stations. Does anyone know if the standard radios have weak receptions and did they ever do a Skoda CD head unit for this size of stereo? I have seen Fabia CD units for sale on Ebay but they're to big. What have you guys got fitted in yours??? |

| Re: What should revs be at Tickover??? Autodata CD2 lists 6 variants of that engine in 1996. If you post the engine code -135, 135B, 135M, 136B, 136M - and bhp I will look up the correct idle speed for you. 600 rpm is too low for all those engines.

| Briskodian | Re: What should revs be at Tickover??? Any standard head unit from any car audio place goes into the felicia pretty easy from what I remember. Should even be able to get a wiring adapter so theres no messing around with wiring as well There were certainly Skoda CD units made for the Favorit (there was a CD limited edition ) I should think there would have been cds fitted to some models of the later felicias as well, but I dont really see much point in sticking with genuine skoda stereos. |

| Briskodian | Re: What should revs be at Tickover??? Is it easy to adjust the tickover a little higher or is it controlled by the ecu? Also, My Skoda stereo has a CD button on it. Could it be that it will run a CD changer? That would be perfect as I like to keep standard head units in cars to stop theives wanting to break in! |

| Re: What should revs be at Tickover??? The idle speed can be adjusted for two of the six 1.3 variants for your car's year but not the other four. Without knowing the engine code it is impossible to answer your question.

| Re: What should revs be at Tickover??? It should be part of the engine number on the Registration Certificate, eg my 1.6GLX's engine number is recorded as 340***AEE - where AEE is the engine code. It is also stamped on the engine, but don't ask me where on the 1.3!

| Briskodian | Re: What should revs be at Tickover??? Well that was well hidden! There's numbers all over the place, finally found it on the side of the engine head. It is a 136M engine code. Can you tell from that as I don't know the exact Horsepower? |

| Briskodian | Re: What should revs be at Tickover??? Thanks for your help. I think the culprit may be something altogether different. The car seems a little down on power at the lower rev range and it stalled this morning and then wouldn't actually start for a good few minutes. Having read some other posts it seems to be a fairly common complaint with the felicia and one which I will try to rectify (the culprit) after crimbo. It sounds like it could be the inlet manifold gasket, but I will get an ECU check first in case it is a failed sensor etc. |

| Re: What should revs be at Tickover??? It only takes a few minutes to check the gaskets for leaks. Spray WD40 on them with the engine running and if the engine note changes it's getting sucked in. Replacements cost about £4 a pair. That worked for me but it could be a dirty throttle body as previously suggested which is also quick and easy to do. |
