All.

This site was created to become a resource of information for Skoda owners, and a community of people that share information and assist each other.
We expect all users to share that vision.

Recent activity has created a lot of work for the unpaid moderation team, and whilst we have tried to defend "free speech", we will not tolerate direct abuse against those that make this site possible. Neither will we accept any user that attempts to break
this community spirit.

If you come across any post or user that you feel breaks this community spirit, please use the "report post" button, this will alert the moderation team and
we will look into the issue.

Also, if you have not read the rules and guidance, please take the time to read them now. they are located in this forum. If you feel they are not reasonable, then feel free to drop us an email at webmaster(at)briskoda.com with feedback.

All constructive feedback is welcomed and to be encouraged for any concerns you have, whenever you have them.

Regards.

Well said!!!

I've never been a continuous regular poster on here but been about a while and keep coming back. Its sad to see some of the old faces take the hump and disapear because they no longer feel the love, or because one person has personality issues.

People will argue from time to time, its human nature but so long as we're all buddies at the end of the day

Briskoda is one of the better and friendlier places on the net - a damned valuable resource for us guys too! The work of the unpaid mods is appreciated - please keep up the fantastic work!

Sorry - I'm lost. I read this via iSpy but couldn't find the Technical Guides Forum it was posted on (Mo sharpest knife. Just re-found it via the Search function.) Would it be an idea to post it where people will read it? - even as a Sticky?

I'm awfully guilty of making posts extraneous to ColinD's desire to keep it as a car enthusiasts' site, though as I only have an ickle car, I rely on the merit that people like an active site (well that's my excuse).

Regards
Mo

Edit: It's in "Technical Articles and Reference" - Still can find it though. *Goes back to knitting*

Well, interesting indeed. I have attempted to access the reference materials section - but this seems to be restricted to members of the "freedom" scheme.

I have also asked for some information related to a tech question I have - got a private message that advised me to join "freedom", then will I receive the information.

I suppose no-one will care for what I have to say (I'm only a measly <10 posts user anyways).

Looks like I'm one of the "'ole stupid engineers" that think that information is less important than the ability to use it. I've done my share in my previous life as a Renault owner, and posted whatever info I thought could help others. I've been quite happy to be part of a community that did likewise, without asking or expecting remuneration of any kind - well, I lied - I did accept a few beers here and there from my mates . Apparently this was wrong, at least by this site's standards - information should be paid for. Or maybe this is how Skoda owners are like? I certainly hope not!

Thanks for the enlighting words. I will remember them... pitty they don't apply to the "real" world in this forum.

Hey Stefan,
I think your taking it the wrong way a little, the majority of the information on here is open to whoever wishes to access it, obviously nobody could answer your query so hence some pointed to ask a tech. The site has costs associated with it, it ain't much and for the hours of info & enjoyment got it really ain't a lot to ask. I'm sure from your Renault forum days you can appreciate the level of info and potential savings to yourself with the information received.

Stefan, you don't have to be a member of Briskoda to access the Reference Materials and Technical Guides, so I do not understand why you are unable to access them. Is this the technical query you are referring to? If so, the answer will be found in SkodaAuto Workshop Manuals which are copyright and which we are therefore unable to reproduce on this site in whole or part. Have you tried asking a Skoda dealer in your country for the information you need?

I am bumping this thread as it has become clear that a small number of people don't quite get it!

Anyone who is considered detrimental to the overall good of this forum will be banned, plain and simple.

If things are taken to far you will be acted upon. If you don't like it read the rule and the terms you agree to by each post you make.

Just think before posting, if you can't then please close your browser now.
