| Had a test drive today and I must say I'm very impressed, so much so that I'm 99% sure on trading in my Roomster, and that is what my test is compared against. First thing I noticed was how easy it is to get on-board and how comfortable the seats are, front and rear, plenty of space around the cabin due to the extra width, one minus point is the Tigaun does not have the flexibility of the rear seats or the huge boot that the Roomster benefits from. Start the Tiguan up and one thing that is immediately noticable is the absence of engine clatter, even when pushed, this is one quiet diesel, thanks to the common rail technology, which should soon filter down to Skoda's. The engine and automatic gearbox are super smooth, and motorway driving is a breeze with very little wind or engine noise entering the well insultaed cabin, this is one aspect where the Roomster cannot compete. You do not get the sledgehammer wallop of torque during acceleration, you get in a Fabia VRS, the power seems to be spread across the rev range, I've heard this experience is common amongst all commonrail diesels. The Tiguan I'm interested in is the Sport TDi auto, specced up with met paint and dynaudio the car comes in at £24400, pricey and much more than I have ever spent on a car before but in my opinion well worth it. Just need to convince myself that extra 1% and I'll put down a deposit. Des |

| Doesn't the back seat shuffle back and forth to maximise leg room, or if you have small children and don't need the legroom or rear passengers you don't like much and want to give them the hint that they should walk next time, maximise the boot space? As for the CR engines, the vRS gets the new CR170 from May 08, CR140 should follow immediately or by end of year (depending on PD140 "stockpiles")
