Car: silver Octy 4X4 (150bhp. yeah right) | 4X4 arb + Hi Sarah am looking at replacing the front & rear ARB's on my Octy 4X4 2001 In a couple of months. I have done some searching & think the following sound good:- Neuspeed Rear Race Anti-Roll Bar R32/TT 4wd 25mm (SU-ARB-NEU-R32B) Neuspeed Front Anti-Roll Bar TT/LCR/VRS 22mm (SU-ARB-NEU-TTA) (I have also seen a PI spring kit that gives a 30mm drop. pardon my ignorance, but would these fit with current shockers & Could you fit these if I got them?) What would be the cost for all of this ? How long would it take to do?(ie could I come over & wait or would it be a couple of days?) How much notice would you need to book it in? Thanks in advance Fred. | |

| Re: 4X4 arb + Hi Fred
One thing that made me Ooooh is the PI springs.....sorry not my fav spring
They tend to be cut down springs and I dont think they get a good rave on any car , am sorry
The main problem with lowering on springs alone , is the fact that it is the shockers that wear and if you put just lowering springs on then they will wear alot quicker
I usually say approx 40-60k miles the shockers are well...shocked
The front ARB is £145 + VAT and the rear ARB is £245 + VAT
Labour on the front arb is £99 + VAT and then you would need a geo set up afterwards , but if you have springs fitted at the same time the price includes the geo so would not be needed
(So in the long run it will save you to do both jobs together)
The rear one is £49.50 + VAT for fitting
Fitting of springs , sockers or springs and shockers is £167.50 + VAT , so it does work out cheaper to do everything at the same time , if you can
I am sorry I can help you spend your money)
I would say that a possible good move could be the H&R springs as these are specific to your car will lower 40mm and are £150 + VAT
The ARB`s and suspension would possibly be approx 6 to 7 hours
You can wait not a problem we have a lovely warm waiting room with TV etc or we can get you a courtesy car as it is such a long job and you can then go to the Trafford centre
We would be looking at approx 2 to 3 weeks too
I hope that helps?

Car: silver Octy 4X4 (150bhp. yeah right) | Re: 4X4 arb + Right, after reading all the info you have so kindly given me, I would like to pick your brains a bit more, as to what would have the greater effect, both arb's only, H&R spring kit only, or rear arb + H&R spring kit.
As having done the maths, I now need to lie down
Would be looking to have the work done around the middle of April.
hope you don't mind me going on a bit but really want to get this right.
Thanks again
Fred.
PS Your ability to spend money has been mentioned a few times : | |

Will have to see just how much "redesigning" is req.
I assume the spare wheel will still fit | |

Car: Black Audi S8 (340BHP 302lbs/ft) | Re: 4X4 arb + Assuming the ARB you're going for is the same design as the standard R32 then the modification required is fairly tame and takes seconds to do. Also the spare wheel does still fit.

| Re: 4X4 arb + Ooops
Teach me to read threads properly
I would say rear arb + H&R spring kit
But wait for others to say otherwise....
I would have thought that combo
The rear ARB is fantastic too , I do think at times it is good to do 1 thing or these 2 before spending more , as then you can see what benifits you get with each part

Sarah | I just looked behind the sofa,..............
found two kids searching for money, 6 coco pops, 2 buttons & a ball of fluff
As for the others, they quite rightly have their opinions, which are always worth reading(thats how we learn), but I asked you for yours, as you also have experiance in this field.
It would be churlish to to pass over it for someone else's who I don't really know.
Also you are much better looking than them, which is the clincher.
Thanks
