Thumbs up Big thanks, and apologies

Just a massive thanks to the guys, and sarah at Awesome-GTi

Popped in whilst visiting relatives yesterday to enquire about the carbonio induction kit for my octy vrs mk1. next thing you know, im sat down with a drink whilst they're gettin it in to have it fitted. No booking. Like their name, awesome

And whilst at it thought id treat myself to the forge 007 dump valve to compliment the ind kit sound. When they said the price, the smile came to my face and when they then mentioned a trial remap

However, sarah when you read this, my apologies for blocking your diag bay for so long with my dodgy ecu

For the rest of you my octy had some random problem with its ecu--whilst remapping, the progress froze (due to unknown issue with ecu), therefore wiping my original mapping. Had the guys on the phone to APR in the states to see what they knew--everyone puzzled. So out comes my entire ecu, and now im blessed with a APR ECU, running standard map.

So a massive thanks to the guys and gal up in Awesome, and i will be back--no offence but hopefully not for the same amount of time

Theres no doubting the high level of customer service at Awesome GTI.
Quick question tho - What is an APR ECU and how is it different from a standard VAG unit.

That mate, i have no idea. Hoping sarah can help out when she reads this. I got told by the boss man that this is what they had to do. Only other thing i can think he meant was that they used a stndard new ecu, but used a APR coding on it, running a standard map?

Hey
All I can say is , its a good job the coffee is on free vend eh
I must admit , it did seem to be a problem with the ECU
I cannot go in to to much details as I was that busy I did not get to have a good chat to our lads
But I do know that they did work their "Awesome" majic to get you back on the road , and hopefully get you home quicker than you got up to us
I will have a chat with them when I am back at work , so I can give you a full run down of what happened with your ECU and how we resolved it
Hope that you have a great christmas
P.S
How`s the Carbonio?

Hi
Sorry mate I have been off for a while to get ready for Christmas and ended up poorly
Dean is the one who did your car , but speaking to Andy the car went through approx 3% of the operation when it froze up
Then it would not do an awful lot of anything else
They had a very strong feeling that it had already been chipped , not mapped but chipped so they had to do an APR map on to a new chip and fit that
Hope that helps?
I did get the PM but wanted a chat with Andy before I replied
Was you good and get lots of pressies for christmas?
Sarah

Hi
No its not the full ECU but just a chip on there
It has been downloaded with the APR remap , so yes you have the map on there
I will double check with Dean tomorrow , but that is what we are lead to believe

Hey right now I am sat at the side of Dean and got the fianl rundown
There was a problem and they say that there was a problem with the ECU
They think it could be down to the radio that was fitted , but we cannot be sure
So they did a standard map on to the chip and fitted that
So my mistake , no it does not have the APR fitted to it , but at least we know that it can be done the next time around
No trial map I am afraid as it cannot be done to that chip , but we can do you the full burn the next time that you come in
sorry to have taken so long to come to the desision as Dean has been off the days I have been in
We are catching up on all our holidays you see
Hope that helps you , so next time you are in we can do you the full APR with that
Sarah
