Ok then, so one and a half weeks into owning my new Octy and what have i done and what do i think??
Well, i love the car :0) nice to drive and reasonable on fuel costs when your being sensible. Plus ofc the option to nail it and enjoy myself :giggle:
Changed from a Volvo 850 T5, which was also mapped and running about 275bhp, fair enough i lost a fair bit of power but the Octavia weighs about a ton less!!! Makes it much more fun to chuck into corners. And it actually stops when i press the brake pedal, no more having to throw an anchor out of the window 'woot'
So far i have changed the DV for a forge 007 one.
Stage 1 remap.
Changed the plugs for PFR7Q's (ouch not the cheapest plugs in the world, £43.75)
Changed the drivers door window control console, managed to find a second hand one local for £16
Changed the Coolant temp sensor for a new green VAG one, plus o ring and clip.
New wipers all round, was well timed as it chucked it down earlier :0)
Took all the old stereo gear out and put my Alpine kit in its place, including wiring in the amp and sub (not trying to be chavvy but just love my music)
New Cambelt Kit, apparantly the Gates full kit was worth the £155 i paid.....plus the waterpump changed.
Found the leaking pipes from the turbo, two little ones under the intake mainfold, and replaced them.
Put a K&N panle filter in, toyed with an induction kit but was informed that unless i wanted a turbo conversion then a panle filter would do the job fine.
Stripped out the throttle body housing and cleaned it all up so it looks nice and shiny.
Took the MAF off and cleaned that out, thought it was causing my poor idle, but that turned out to be the Throttle body needing to be aligned.
So....i have been busy with it and enjoyed evey moment. Now i have a few more things to do:
Get my clutch sorted out, after the map it starts to slip a little when putting it under stress.
Get the old rusty screws out of the rear and try to fit my new number plates. ( oh my, i havnt even checked the fornt ones yet... chances are they will be knackered too)
