Default Just building a 300 bhp PD 130

We are just building an engine for a golf PD 130, it was 235 bhp and 355 ft-lb when we got it, we are fitting the following parts and she should make around 310 bhp and 440 ft-lb of torque:-
race injectors,
tubular exhaust manifold,
hybrid VNT 20 turbo (same unit as on the VW motorsport caddy),
PWR barrel charge cooler,
ERL water injection,
Performance cam,
re-moved EGR flap from intake,
fuel cooler,
Helix solid flywheel and paddle clutch,
EGT gauges and boost EGT data logging,
custom turbo intake and down pipe,
Carbonio Cold Air Intake
The car also has
Quiaffe ATB diff,
eibach coil overs and anti-roll bar kit,
hi-spec 6 pot brakes,
safety devices roll cage and carbon fibre bucket seat.

Ha - I may be there sooner. I will have pretty much all the above as well, except my head and inlet will be "widened" - but I won't have water injection. I have the NOX for that.

Good luck mr Derv! These engines don't seem to like going much above 260bhp, and it seems wider injectors is a key mod needed to gun for 300.

Read about this over on TDIclub.

Good use. Nice to see UK tuner now looking at bigger turbo's than the GT17.

So why a GT20 why not a GT23

Is the manifold Kerma's or a custom one for yourselves?

If it's anything like mine, I would imagine sod all. The replacement camshaft and uprated injectors will be the only internal swap. I am aware of forged pistons, lightened and balanced bottom ends, rods that will give a bigger throw to increase cc without reboring - Then there's reboring and 100mm pistons to give a 2.1 litre. This is nothing I plan to do this year, or next - But you never know in the future if she starts to moan at 300bhp on stock bottom end.

and still return high fuel economy thanks to high volume turbo My beeper went off at 520 miles on my last tank and that was with a good "blat" up the M5 and along the M4 at the weekend. £40 to brim fill.

Yes, the money thing can be an issue, but my car is more to me than just an A to B machine - so any money I can spend on the car I do! I'll probably become old and sensible in 4 or 5 years.... or maybe not.

We have had this running now, making the down pipe was a task :s

We are just finishing the inlet pipes and the intake system, should be on the dyno towards the end of the week. She should pull near or over 300 bhp we hope!!
