Default new Turbo Technics PD hybrid

We have been testing a new 1.9 PD TDi hybrid, the unit has a VNT-20 compressor cover. Larger comp wheel etc.

I've attached some pics below

Units are priced at 595 plus VAT if you have a good Garrett GT1749v to send in, I'm just working on a brand new price. And I've also go the odd good old unit coming in

That looks the business. A few questions if you don't mind.

Would I need to leave my car off the road while I ship the old turbo to you first or could you work it on a credit back when you receive the old unit?

How do I know which turbo is fitted to my Fabia vRS? Are they always that model Garrett or are other makes used?

Are these reconditioned? How do prices compare with new units? Is there any warranty with them? Could you offer any credit for the de-installed original unit shipped back to you?

All fabia's have a KKK KP39 fitted, so you either need to buy a brand new unit or we need to find a good used garrett to get built. There is full warranty on the turbos. there is only a few of the castings etc. that are used off the org turbo.

Nice unit. Is the exhaust outlet fitting a direct match for the stock downpipe fitting? I see 3 studs but not a shape.

PS: That sticky up bit with the 2 studs on it? wossat? Looks like one of those dodgy recirc widgets. Do the turbos come with a nice plate & 2 nuts for that?

the turbo is direct fit, you only need to remove the rapid fit connector off the turbo outlet pipe. all the rest is the same. The intake and turbo outlet are a little tight but they go on.

Yeah its EGR! Best thing is a blanking plate!!

Looks good; would this produce similar figures to a TD stage 2?

Also, would any other Garretts in PX?

The internals are very similar, but it uses a larger compressor cover as if you use the org GT17, they get pretty thin once you machine them out to fit a GT20 wheel

I'll have a word to see what part numbers we can use as a base. What do you have??

Just need a little clarification please. In a PX situation, does the customer actually get back the PX'd standard turbo they supplied, in upgraded form? Or do you just ship an upgraded unit off the shelf and then use that PX in the future?

Also just to add to steves point, would it be possible to Part exchange a Gt1749va from the later 2.0 pd engines and get a gt1749va for the 1.9 engine back?

thanks

John

Yes we offer an up-rated PD140 turbo, for power upto 235 bhp. Available as a brand new unit at 975 plus VAT and 595 plus VAT exchange.

We normally keep a PD130 unit in stock, for exchange. The exchange prices are based on a turbo that is in a condition were it can be re-built. There is a surcharge if they are scrap.

We normally carry ones on the shelf, or have ones that we can get built. We can send your own unit away. But your car would be off the road for a few days.

yeah, £595 exchange or £975 for a brand new unit out right purchase.

We cannot swap a PD140 turbo normally, because the housings are different. The turbo has a V clamp for the exhaust fitting not a 3 bolt lfange.
