| We offer uprated clutches from Sachs race engineering and Helix Autosport, we have been dealing with Helix Autosport of about 4 years. We recommend the sachs clutch with organic plate for upto 350 ft-lb on the 1.9 TDi's, as it retains the stock dual mass fly wheel. The helix clutch comes with a solid flywheel, billet aluminium cover and a organic plate, its rated at 440 f-lb. We recommend the sach clutch if you do not need the extra torque rating as there is an increased amount of noise from it at idle. Example prices Fabia Vrs Sachs organic clutch and new release bearing:- 430 plus VAT Helix Auto sport clutch and flywheel assemble with new release bearing :- 719 plus VAT We charge 185 plus VAT to fit a clutch into a fabia.

| Is the Helix clutch harsh in engagement?

| the helix drives fine, but its a little noisey at idle. Due to the lack of a dual mass flywheel

| That I can live with. It's the actual operation I'm interested in. Don't want a stiff operation or harsh bite really. Are these paddle clutchs then?

| I have the Sachs uprated pressure plate as well as the clutch fitted to my fabia vrs and it's great. TBH, the pedal feel is a bit stiffer than OEM. The bite is rather harsh, but this is when new and after a few hundred miles, once it bears in, it is very easy to control. It does retain a slightly stiffer travel and sharper feel than the OEM one, even after bedding in, but it does allow for very controlled (and very fast!) starts ![]() Well recommended in my books, and with the state of tune of my car, I don't have any clutch slippage at all ![]()

| Is the price above for the Sachs organic on the Fab vRS still current? Any chance it's got cheaper? ![]() Cheers, Steve

| We now have a new version of the solid fly wheel, it's now heavier which reduces the noise at idle. The clutch is the same price as the older version.

| Thanks for the update. Just another question - is the release bearing you mention for the Sachs kit part of the standard kit from them? If not, are you including it because you feel it's necessary when upgrading the clutch? If it is separate, could you quote me the separate price, so I can compare overall quotes like for like? Thanks - please PM me details if felt necessary. Steve
