Add the numbers: 01+02+04 = 07 and sets all three.

Don't mess with distance impulse sender and you shouldn't need to mess with the country.

For the options AFAIK it's all the same digit so if you had 02 (Seatbelt Warning installed) then to add Brake Pad warning the number becomes 03 and to further add Washer Warning it becomes 07.

However it is not for sure your car has these so if you enable them and get a warning it will mean they aren't fitted.

Ok thanks Stu, so my coding will be 0007401, I will pop this in later, my car does have these sensors fitted, I must have changed 07 to 02 by mistake as I was trying to put my dash back to miles from Km.
Just got full VAG-COM-HEX yesterday & having fun learning new things everyday

thanks Stu, Just done another scan & keep getting P0671 & P0672 glow plugs 1 & 2 cylinders, Load 0.
Are these glow plugs easy to change, my engine is 1.9PD AVQ. VW Touran
Also my manual does not show me where to check the power steering fluid level

My abilities don't stretch to power steering level on the Touran I'm afraid.

Yep - Possibly as I predicted above, if you don't have it and enable it you get a warning.

thanks Stu, will have a look tommorow to see for sure, purple/white & brown/white wires are for the sensor, main job for tommorow is changing the glow plugs, going for BERU ones from german & Swedish, are they difficult to get to, im guessing the lower windscreen cover at the back of the enginewill have to come off

Your problem aren't the plugs, more likely their control module/relay. Mind posting an Auto-Scan from the vehicle in question so we can have a closer look at the faults and other control module data?

On the swedish mk1, there's no cable for the rear right fog light. Check so you have cable to both lights before activating it.

Sorted, plugs 1&2 were 210 Ohms while 3&4 were 1.3 Ohms. Replaced all 4 in 10 mins . Only cost £43.00 for 4 BERU plugs, & the ones taken out were BERU also, Standard VW fitment poss.
Done three scans ign on/off & three output tests vag-com on the glow plugs & no more faults.
