I haven't, from the description it is limited to just reading and erasing fault codes. What you won't be able to do is view any live data to confirm a diagnosis or adapt and recode control units.

A fault code won't always tell you what is wrong, it will give you a symptom of the cause.

If you have a suitable lap top computer I would recommend getting a 3rd party VAG Com cable and using the evaluation version of the software. If you like it buy a software license (for more functionality) or buy one of the Ross Tech intelligent cables and use the latest software.

He can't get a third party cable, he's got an Octavia II so has to be a real, CAN compatible one.

Gunsons have just bought out a Fault code reader but its £195

probally like all the others.

Thanks for pointing that out, ignore my last paragraph as the third party cables work with K line which are not suitable for an Octavia 2.
