Default Cluster Coding Problems

I am having problems coding my new vRS cluster to a non vRS car. Have followed the Ross Tech directions but cannot get it to work. I have both 4 digit SKC codes from my dealer.
The 'Soft Coding' for the new dials will not code to the old code, does this matter or can i alter the features on the dials at a later date.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Not sure what happens when swapping dashpods, as I've only swapped ECUs and had to do the recoding thing.

Not sure whether you tell the ECU to change the code while the old pod is still in, no pod is in at all, or the new pod is in...

Have you coded it to the engine control unit first?

IIRC Fabia's are all Immobilizer 3.

The easiest way to check with VAG diagnostic tools is go into engine (01) and it will display the cars chassis number and security code (not the one you program in, the 17 digit code you require to get the four pin code from Skoda). If this is the case then before doing the keys in dash insert (17) you need to go into engine (01) adaption (10) channel 50 and then enter the cars orginal pin there. This will transfer the information from the engine ecu over to the dash insert and then you can code the yeys as normal.

Default Dash Swap

Am i being dumb here, but you enter 0 followed by the 4 digit code in the line above the 'use 7 digit SKC' button don't you?
In the 01 engine section under 50 it says disabled?
