| Stolen from another forum. A member has just changed a setting using his VAG COM to correct the 10% difference in True MPG and displayed MPG. Not sure what cars this will work on though. VAG COM Change 17 - Instruments - Adaption-10 - Ch No. 3 - Original value 100 (this is a %) my new value is 110. Use TEST and see Average MPG drop in DIS! Thread here: A how-to with some VAG-COM modules - VWAUDI Forum

| That channel (ie 03) is not available on the 2007 Fabia vRS. This is a pity since on my car's first brim to brim tankful Trip 2 shows 54.0 mpg compared with my calculated figure of 43.57 mpg based on miles driven and fuel used. ![]() But I did take the opportunity to use VAG-COM to increase power steering weight from 2 to 3 - and what a difference that makes. ![]()

| It would be for all Octys that shows mpg on the display.

| Yeah, remember seeing this on TDIClub IIRC. Referred to as the 'fudge' factor ![]() Steve

| Some instrument clusters support this, and some don't. 54 show vs 43.5 actual is a 24% difference. Normally the maximum allowable tweak is 15%. DGW: What's done to your car? Remap? Different FPR? Different fuel injectors? Being off 23% is a LOT. -Uwe- |

| The engine is unmodified, Uwe. After 680 miles Trip 2 reads 56.3 mpg whereas calculated (actual) mpg is 46.44. I will continue logging fuel and mileage to see if mpg changes for the better.

| Still 21% off. How about a really kudgy solution: Set your car up to believe it's a US market car. Our gallons are about 20% smaller than yours. ;-) Seriously though, ~45 imperial mpg seems awfully low for a Fabia with a TDI motor -- unless of course you have a serious case of lead-foot. -Uwe- |

| It depends on the sort of driving you are doing. It's about what I get doing my 8 mile commute to work. On a long run it's usually a bit better. My trip computer also normally reads about 10mpg too high! |

| Just tried to do this on my 2001 octy tdi and can't do it as there is no channel 3 to modify - oh well - was looking forward to correcting my display as it is also 10% out. ![]() |
