Please see the info which has been translated from German by Babelfish.
If you look at the numbers next to each option they are in binary so if the info below is correct for your car, then if you deduct 2 from the current software coding that should remove the seat belt warning.

Hope this makes sense.

Controller coding

STG 17 (combination instrument) select
STG coding - > function 07

To 1.4l/44kW and 1.6l55kW engines apply the values to MJ 2000 during the whole production period.

??xxx: Extra options and optional extras

+00 - no extra options
+01 - Brake lining wear announcement actively (starting from MJ 2001)
+02 - Seat belt warning actively
+04 - Wiping water level warning actively (starting from MJ 2001)
+08 - Control light for lamp loss (starting from MJ 2001)
+16 - Control light for doors on (starting from MJ 2001)

Results in then for navigation, wiping water level announcement and seat belt warning 02+04+16 =22

I'm pretty sure you can not disable this with VAGCOM. K was looking into a perma fix for it, but not sure if he thought of something yet.

Seat belt warning

I have a 2004 Octavia and have grown utterly sick & tired of that damned noise as soon as I switch on the ignition. I asked my dealer to disable it, but they failed. When I asked them again they aparently consulted SkodaTechnical, who searched the 'knowledge base' but failed to find a solution.

It's a pity they did not seach the seat base instead because they could have then done the job properly.

If you look at the seat belt stalk on the driver's side you will notice a thin wire running down it. this is the wire from the sensor in the latch.

It runs under the seat to a two pin connector on a plastic carrier under the front of the seat. Once you have found this connector, unplug it and the system will think the seat belt is latched and will not chime at you any more.

Hope that is of help to someone.
