Default Ilexa forum - has anyone managed to join?

I attempted to join the Ilexa forum and completed their on line form. I immediately had an email back ststing that I would be contacted again once my forum account had been vetted and APPROVED. I waited a week and sent two more emails asking if i could have an acceptance to my request as you cannot post anything on the forum until it has been approved. I had a really CURT reply from them saying the forum is an extra service they supply and therefore cannot guarantee time to approve. I waited another two weeks and then sent this so an so upstart another email telling him not to bother - I will order VAG COM direct from Ross Tech and use their forum. Absolutely disgusted at their attitude - i bet if i had bought the VAG COM it would have been dealt with differently.

Just looked on the GENDAN website and they have a VAG COM USB CAN version for £260. Has anyone dealt with this company and can give any feedback. Thanks.

Gendan is the UK reseller for Ross Tech.

I joined that Ilexa forum a while ago with no problems.

The Ross-Tech VAG-COM Digest daily you can sign up to when you register is really good though...Well worth it.

Gendan has become our largest UK distributor (by volume sold).

Ilexia is also one of our distributors and I will not comment on the poor experience. We have received no prior complaints regarding Ilexia.

Purchasing direct from Ross-Tech takes 2-3 days, costs about $40USD for shipping, 17.5% duties and taxes added by the Queen.

I think, just to put things into prospective, Ilexia or Onboard Diagnostics, really only consider that they need to support those of us that have bought VAG-COM from them, ie customers, I think that that really is fair enough! Lots of people have bought cloned cables and downloaded the free to use version of VAG-COM - then want free support????

You may be right - but they don't advertise that!! I was also considering buying VAG COM from them but now I have given up with them particularly after the snotty nose email I got when I asked how long they expected me to wait to see if my application was approved - cheeky s*d. I have now purchased from Gendan at £299. They can get stuffed for me.

Well I hope that Ilexa will be my best bet when I upgrade as I believe that they will accept my original "ISO" whatever bought from them in part exchange - we will see!!

I think that you will find that most of these diagnostic tool sellers are really only specialists in fault diagnosis that have started to "spread the word" by selling these tools and they also by doing this gather in information so that they can form their own data-base for future use - seems fair game. They probably think that when someone has spent a bit of hard earned cash to buy these tools legally, then they can believe some of the questions that these people are then asking on their forums. If someone has shown no committment to them or their products, then maybe these same people would end up asking lots of time-wasting bazar and unlikely questions - just my thoughts you realise. Have you never read some of the totally daft questions that get posted in Car Mechanic diagnostic pages - they get to receive a curt reply, but by publishing these questions the magazine might be trying to stop people wasting time and space in the future.

Update, I just heard that while Gendan are the highest by volume seller of VAG-COM, they are just that sellers, they can not supply any back-up support on how to use it - but Ilexa can and do!

That's not my understanding - they have a phone and email support. Also there is of course Ross technology. I will not be having any more dealings with that shower at Ilexa thankyou.
