Default Runing rich & lean

So using my funky new cable and VAG-COM..........

17356 (P1128-35-10) Bank 1 Mix too Lean (Mult)
16556 (P0172-35-00) Bank 1 Mix too Rich (Mult)

VAG-COM "Readiness" Scan shows everything a.ok apart from "Oxygen Sensor" which is "Failed or Incomplete" and Catalytic Converter, which comes up the same. Depending on how long the engine has been running, Evaporative Emissions also has a bit of an occasional ****y fit. Doug & Me have done the whole injector cleaner routine, I'm going to clean the MAF in the next three weeks, but anyone else think it's probably a good idea to swap out before it goes totally?

Or could it be something else? (not likely, but here's to hoping it's cheaper than a MAF........also not likely )

Oh and theres a whole diag routine with the altitude sensor on the 2.0 petrol engine that needs to be followed for that fault. Most of the time it ends up being a fault with the MAF, but there have been some faults with the sensor in the engine ECU, so try the MAF and if it needs further work it might well be a dealer visit im afraid.

Exchange MAF's are availble now for around £70 btw.

Talk about raising the dead.............
I bought a new OEM part from Euro Car Parts (significantly cheaper than the price the dealer quoted) and fitted myself in 15 mins.

Old MAF removed, washed thoroughly with IPA. Now in storage for future use..........lol.

Thanks anyway. Seems a shame that just as I've put the Octy up for sale, you're reaching new hieghts of potential unsefulness, Ross......Damn!!
