| SRI / channel 45 won't accept oil quality 00004 Anybody managed to save oil quality 00004 for long life diesel as described near the bottom of this page - Ross-Tech: VAG-COM: VW Service Interval Reminders? My Octy II PD105 would only accept 00002 (petrol long life) or 00001 (non long life). Same when my mechanic tried doing it with his tool too. After servicing today, I've left it on on 00002. Any harm in that? |

| Re: SRI / channel 45 won't accept oil quality 00004 The website you are referring too does neither list nor support the Octavia, but every current version of VAG-COM gives you an information about supported values for that adaptation channel. 1 = fixed Service Intervals (w/o Longlife) 2 = flexible Service Intervals (with Longlife) The diesel/gasoline differentiation has been dropped by VW/Skoda a while ago, so 2 as value is perfectly fine.

| Re: SRI / channel 45 won't accept oil quality 00004 Some of the later dash panels no longer accept the changing of individual vaues in adaption only the coding of the scheme itself. Some of the channels cannot even be read off now. Its the case on a lot of the new VW's and I would expect Skodas soon. But of course Seb is correct, the differentiation was purely as when the diesel quality was set to 4 it should set the maximum distance to 30,000 miles. As none of the current diesels run that anymore it doesnt get used. |
