Default Tech Bulletin #56 anyone?

Hi guys !

Has anyone got a link to technical bulletin #56 for the infamous 17705 + 17545 faults?

I've got my car booked into a non skoda garage next week to have a look (they're doing it because it's still under warranty from them)

I've got the codes and meanings from VAG-COM (read only) but need to steer them in the right direction, i've also done a search on here and google but can't find it as yet.

Thanks in advance

Ian

Tech bulletins are not published, so any link you'd find would be illegal.

But if I remember it correctly this is about a pipe replacement? There was a recent thread about it I'm sure.

ahh bugger!

Anyone got a pic of where the pipe is?

I saw the one on the main 17705 thread but would appreciate perhaps a screen print off an epc slide or just something to point them in the right direction of this pipe ??

I don't want them just looking at the DV when this pipe could also be leaking

I had a few posts on this topic, if you do a search for 17705 and my username it should show what you need to know.

I haven't sorted the problem just i've managed to get hold of a printout off etka showing the DV and pipe that needs replacing.

When I get the car back i'll let you know if it has sorted the problem. According to other posts on here I think it should do

i have an intermittant engine light on BTW

Well, thanks to RobBob and various printouts offov this site I am now having the front anti-roll bar bushes changed(creaking) the aerial base changed(bad mw+fm reception) the turbo dump valve and hose mentioned in 17705 and 17545 topics(engine light on and off)

Thanks to all of you for posting your experiences in previous posts and i'll update you when i have them fitted!

Ian

I've now had all of the above fitted and the creaking has gone (ARB bushes) the radio reception is better (New aerial base).

As for the new DV and turbo hose, it's a case of wait and see if the light comes back on with the same 17705 and 17545 codes. I had no loss in performance so will only know if i get the same codes coming back up.

What was happening on the radio reception? I had zero am reception and the fm on bbc national radio stations kept losing the station and scanning to find another (typically local or regional bbc). Does that sound familiar?

I had a booster fitted (cost ~£4) which has sorted the am, but the fm is still poor.

Do you know the cost of the aerial base? May just get one if not too expensive and fit myself.

Can anyone clarify exactly what the issue is - are they repairable?

apparently the aerial bases suffer from water ingress, don't know what the cost of one is as it was covered under my s/h warranty. I was loosing all mw stations and even radio1 in some areas.
