Default VAG-COM errors...

I had 3 errors picked up by VAG-COM today and wonder what they mean:

> AG-COM Version: Release 311.2-N
>
> Control Module Part Number: 06A 906 032 HJ
> Component and/or Version: 1.8L R4/5VT 0002
> Software Coding: 10700
> Work Shop Code: WSC 31480
> Additional Info: TMBKL41U638690271 SKZ7Z0B1712545
> 3 Faults Found:
> 16396 - Bank 1: Camshaft A (Intake): Advance Setpoint not Reached (Over-Retarded)
> P0012 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

Autodata explanation
Camshaft position (CMP) intake/left/front, bank 1 - timing over-retarded -> Valve timing, engine mechanical fault, CMP actuator

> 17705 - Pressure Drop between Turbo and Throttle Valve (check D.V.!)
> P1297 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

Autodata explanation
Turbocharger (TC)/throttle valve. hose connection - pressure loss -> hose connection

> 18010 - Power Supply Terminal 30: Voltage too Low
> P1602 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

Autodata explanation
Engine control module (ECM) - supply coltage low from battery -> Battery was disconnected, battery discharged, alternator, wiring open circuit, fuse.

As for the latter, I guess its due to the battery disconnection during the dashboard replacement.

The pressure drop doesn't seem very difficult to track I guess, fastening the host and/or replace the D.V might do it, but still not certain.

The one I worry about is the first one. Anyone has any experience with it?

TIA.

It seems almost all 1.8T cars have error 17705. It is supposed to point at a boost leak somewhere in the system, but it can be generated randomly. Of course you caould actually have a leak or a faulty Dump Valve.

18010 can be caused by connecting electrical equipment to one of the power distribution points behind the dash under the steering wheel. They are labelled 30, 75x etc. I have my gauges connected to terminal number 30 and I occasionally get error 18010.

As for your first error, I think you should get that one checked by the dealer. I'm completely guessing here, but maybe it could be an incorrectly fitted cambelt or possibly a problem with the VVT setup. You really don't want to risk it being something like that...
