| Briskodian | What Protocol? - Felicia 1.3 SPI Just wanted to ask if anyone knows what protocol is used in '97 Felicia 1.3 SPI on the diagnostic bus (only ground/Vbatt/ISO-K pins are present). The possibilities are: ISO 9141 - maybe ISO 14230 (Keyword 2000) - negative... this standard came after the car was made Keyword 1281 - probable, typical to VAG cars The question to everybody with an RS-OBD2 wire and an early Felicia: Can you communicate with the ECU through ISO9141? Or does it only speak KW 1281? Update: I noticed VAG-COMs display the protocol currently used, so it'll probably check for the native KW1281 and it's compatibility can be checked... I don't know if it can be forced to use some other protocol if KW1281 is present. Last edited by Lhx; 29-07-2006 at 00:19. |

| Re: What Protocol? - Felicia 1.3 SPI VAG models from that year support KWP-1281 only, besides that ISO-9141 is no protocol. Everything else would be a modified protocol of the control module manufacturer.

| Briskodian | Re: What Protocol? - Felicia 1.3 SPI Thanks... and I wish I knew 9141 was only some kind of other related specification, but ISO's prices are too high for an average student to afford ![]() Oh, and BTW would anyone be interested in a microcontroler with LCD display support to read stuff from the ECU? I suppose I'll publish the schematic+software somewhere anyway, but if there will be many users I'll try to make it easier to customise (not all data can be shown at once). |
