Default Aerial on Fabia 3

I have just got my new Fabia 3 unfortunately the aerial hits my garage door so i have to unscrew it every time i drive in and out. I know this is a security aerial on the Fabia 3 that doesnt allow you to completely unscrew it. Does anyone know if its easy to take off or if Skoda supply a shorter aerial

i have a stubby aerial on my fab3, the long one you have unscrews then you have to give it a little tug and it will come off. then screw a stubby aerial on

edit:

mines somthing like this:-

Short Stubby Aerial BLACK BULLET Antenna VW AUDi BMW on eBay, also Aerials Aerial Toppers, Exterior Styling, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 06-Mar-08 14:07:56 GMT)

Like Mole says it just needs a good tug once you've unscrewed it. I replaced mine with the Honda S2000 aerial and would say the signal is better its about half the size of the Skoda one.

HONDA S2000 AERIAL FITS... GOLF CLIO TYPE-R SEAT AUDI on eBay, also Aerials Aerial Toppers, Exterior Styling, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 12-Mar-08 20:40:21 GMT)

IIRC, the aerial could be taken off through the courtesy light (from the inside)

Well unscrewed it and gave it a tug but it doesnt appear to want to come off. How hard was it as I dont want to pull the housing too much as it will put a dint in roof.

make sure its unscrewed all the way, then just a short sharp tug will do it.

yeah, the the actual aerial is attatched to the screw bit. you'll know when its unscrewed all the way it becomes more loose than you'd expect.

the other option is to just cut the aerial in half, quick/easy/cheap solution. not sure how good reception will be though.

yeah man but didnt really wanna do that as it wouldnt look that good. I thought i had unscrewed it enough as the pleanty of thread was showing from the aerial and it appeared completely loose did u hold the roof mounting when u tugged it?

Another option for you - after someone 'borrowed' the aerial of my Fabia replaced with the Richbrook Anti Theft Aerial from...

Speeding.co.uk Bee Sting & Assorted Aerials

Been fine so far and hasn't gone walkies! Has the added benefit of being able to be 'cut' to size.
