digital bargraph fuel guage / fuel warning light

I am drivng a loan car at the moment (fabia 1) with some little petrol engine.

Yesterday I put some more fuel (£4!) into the car, and the digitial guage showed the bottom block full, and half of the next block full, but still the warning light was on. This makes it a bit harder for me to work out exactly how many miles I have left in the car. Therefore when does the fuel light actually come on in the car? Is it when it had two complete blocks left on the guage?

IIRC, On the diesel I think the fuel warning light comes on with 7 litres remaining.

unfortunately the garage have given me some petrol thing with only 3 cylinders :-(

I would consult the owners guide/manual, but that is no where to be seen!

Re: digital bargraph fuel guage / fuel warning light

You've hit on the one area with the new Fabia 2 (and Roomster 2) that Skoda has simply got wrong. Presumeably to save money they have taken away the circular fuel and temperature gauges and replaced them with a horrible LCD scale thingy for the fuel and a warning light for the engine temperature.

I was in the fortunate position of ordering a Fabia 2 for 1st September and I ordered the Maxidot computer upgrade and the proper dials come as part of that option. I am really glad I did because every time I have had a courtesy car it seems to be the '2' spec Fabia or Roomster and I simply hate the dash instruments! I realise people probably get used to them but I'm afraid I can't take to them at all.

Matthew 10L had me from almost running on vapours (2 miles left showing) to about 1/4-> 1/3rd of the tank on the fabia 2 1.2htp I had.
