Default remote central locking for fabia 1

Do any of you know if it is possible to use a three button remote fob to remotely open doors on the new fabia 1.It seems that this model is equipped with the same locking system as the fabia 2 but supplied without the remote fob.My dealer has tried to set up my vw fob but thinks it may have a different frequency. ANYhelp would be apreciated

Not sure about this but very keen as my wife is intrested in a FAB1 - could I ask you ask a question.

With just central locking can you open the boot on its own or do you only have the drivers door that then opens all doors?

george , the central locking on the fabia 1 opens all doors and the boot at the same time. Its a big difference in price though for the fabia 2 and in my opinion Skoda should supply the fabia 1 with remote locking in the first place. My dealer tried ( so they tell me ) to prograsmme my spare three button remote for me but tell me that it might be the wrong frequency for this car.

One possible solution (if no Skoda OEM one can be found) is to get an alarm system installed. These can control the central locking, and if a boot pop release is installed they can activate those too. Look into the Clifford systems, even the cheapest Arrow one is decent enough. Clifford (United Kingdom) - Arrow 5.1
