Angry 128 bhp max from pd100

Hi all,
Just got back from a long trip down to Jabbasport, was expecting to get 150 bhp with a remap and green filter and pd160 intake mods.
They tried hard to improve it but for some reason the dyno guy (Mike) could not get any more power. He was almost sure that the injectors were on their limit. This is the first time he has had this problem and is looking into it. every other pd100 he has ever done has made a good 145+ bhp.
Am I unlucky or what?
The car is an 05 elegance estate, and they think the injectors may now be downsized on these later models, but mine is the first one they have come across!
Driving the car back, to be honest, felt fantastic and I wonder what I am missing out on not having the extra power.
Mike is looking into the problem as obviously he will come across it more in the future and if he comes up with a solution I can trek back down and get mine redone.
Jabba were very proffessional about it all and if I do go back down if and when a solution is available I will not be out of pocket.
In the mean time if anybody else has any ideas I would welcome them, Oh yes the car was making 108 bhp with the standard map and filter and intake mods.So my overall gain is 20 bhp. Although it felt a lot more driving it home.
Paul (gutted).

Hope Skoda haven't introduced something a little sneaky on newer models?!

Anyone had an 05 vRS done yet? My PD100 engine was putting out 154bhp on jabba's rollers at one point, with just green filter & decatted exhaust - Was 151 after the over-fuelling issue was sorted out.

On some 04 models the ECU, Jabba couldn't OBD remap...had to change EEPROM and map the tradtional way.

Problem solve now though.

Guess I'd better make Mike aware that my car is a "2004 / 04" model.

ECU will have an LA suffix however, the problem is solved now and OBD mapping is ok.

Not that it would have been a problem for mapping your motor.

Well, I still remember when Furby Mk1 was remapped for the first time and Graeme went to have his done the next day and I went to watch, and he had to abort his, maybe due to the same above problem.

Came good in the end though. I've emailed Carole as it looks like I'm up in the E.Midlands during the last weekend of this month anyway. Should be running at optimal power sooner than I first envisaged.

Hi Paul

Glad you got home OK. I did speak to Mike after you left and he was gutted for you too and felt pretty bad about it! I'm sure Jabba will find a solution to your problem soon!
At least you still got some good torque figures for now and I'm sure it's still a match for a std. vRS

Sorry if I was blabbering on about how chuffed you would be after your remap but I was just suprised how well mine went and was shocked at getting 193 bhp and 423 NM torque from mine! Not trying to rub it in Paul, honest!

Hi chowy,
How did yours run on the way home?
Mine did feel quite good.In gear accelleration in fith from middle of the rev range is excellent, I cant help but wonder how much better it could be though!
Still I have time and patience so we will see what happens in the future, I am sure this problem will arise again and as always they will be a way around it (I hope).
Paul.

Fantastic trip home! Night and day difference with the remap! Best £400 I've spent along with the best £230 for Eibachs!!

Problem is that no other additions to the car will improve it to any great level now IMO!

Hi
Do you know if the injectors on the pd100 have changed recently?
I noticed you have fitted the pd130 injectors so you must be seeking considerably more power than I was.
However all other pd100 injectors jabba have seen were good for 140bhp plus.
Have they put smaller injectors on the latest 05 models?
Micheal was not sure of this but could not offer any other explanation for the lower power figures. If we knew the injectors have not been downsized then we could start looking elsewhere.
hope someone can help.
Paul.

One place to look is ETOS/ETKA and compare the part no.s for PD100 injectors.
