Default 200 BHP+ without heavy mods :)

Took a trip with a few people from fordmondeo.org today to Top Gear Performance in Doncaster, my car went on 2nd, ambient temp at the time was 18.5 degrees, and my car recorded what can only be called the most outrageous bhp and torque figure for a car with just a remap.

203.7 BHP
319.6 LB/FT OF TORQUE

I know this is probably down to inaccurate RR's and the JBS RR would no doubt set things straight but I was still impressed to see that my pikey mods & 10k more miles seem to have free'd up just over 10 bhp over the Jabba RR and 18 lb/ft torque.

Thats awesome mate - you must be well chuffed!

Congrats.

What other mods do you have? Surely can't be only a remap?

More than a remap - a very inaccurate RR.
Im sure HellFire knows that though, still nice figures all the same.

You say you know that its not accurate, then you say your impressed how pikey mods and 10k more miles have free up 10bhp and 18 lb/ft torque. They haven't though...

No offensce but your car is probably putting out 180-184 bhp... So you've not gained anything over Jabba's unrealistic RR, you've just been on an even less accurate RR

personally doubt its even putting out 180bhp but thats just my opinion. you need to go to an independant well established place that has nothing to prove.

Now now people..

Hellfire did state in the first post that he knows its probably an inaccurate RR, so no need to start dissing the car.

im also interested to know what the highest mundano output was

The extra vents will help more in real life than on the RR anyway, I suppose. Not gonna increase power, just keep power for longer as ECU doesnt drop boost as soon.

Either way, I was just wondering if on this particular RR you get extra points for laying down more of a smoke screen

Somehow I have a feeling Hellfire wasnt claiming genuine bhp figures - his car will still be putting out more bhp than mine by a long shot though as mine's standard

I dont think the ECU drops boost, just pulls timing due to excessive heat.

Yes, im aware the RR was no doubt inaccurate as previously mentioned, the Mondeo put out 170 bhp with the dragon tuning box on.

Sorry if my post wasnt clear when referring it to the Jabba RR, I meant it in a sarcastic way .

Mods: Green Filter, Cupra Intake, Pikey Mod 1 & 2 and Remap.

not dissing the car here by the way, just agree'd that 200bhp was a tad optimisstic

IIRC it does drops boost on the TDI's as there is no "timing" as such.

a decent RR wouldnt run long enough to let the temps get so high, but colder air is better.. as usual

I will still quote if I even went to a meet that my car was only pushing 170 bhp as I wouldnt want to look an idiot if it went on an accurate RR. Also, with that much power in both bhp/torque I should be able to keep up with and possibly pass standard WRX Impreza from a rolling start in a straight line drag (power to weight ratio) which I can't (not STi).

what you need to remember with things like the imprezza is although there isn't a massive difference in peak power the overall or average power of the imprezza will be better

Why, when someone mentions a rolling road and there readout figures on here, does there always seem to be someone who immediately jumps into the convo to doubt the readouts straight away!!

Yeh we all know that some rolling roads read differently than others(inaccurate supposidly) but if they have a calibration certificate then there shouldt be a problem surely?

How do we know if ANY of them are truely 100% accurate!?

before jumping two feet first onto the "fabia defence bandwagon" try taking a step back and actually reading the thread and looking at the figures produced by the company with the rollng road. do you not find it odd that most other people come up with figures between 165bhp and about 180bhp reliable then all of a suddern one company says its 200bhp+

does it not seem a bit odd to you?
