| i know this is a daft question. can the 312mm brakes be fitted to the 2.0 fabia?? obviously i would need at least 16" wheels, but are the calipers/carriers from the 2 litre models the same as the vrs? except the colour of course???? |

| Re: 312mm brakes It will, as long as you have the wheel clearance. |

| Re: 312mm brakes I thought the 2.0 had the 256mm setup, therefore needing hubs etc too...? I could be quite wrong though of course. ![]()

There's another small close knit group of fabias that have the same option. Always wondered why the 2.0 got the same hubs though, and other models like the pd100 didn't. C'est la vie.

| Re: 312mm brakes Just out of interest - how much are the vRS hubs, roughly? Are there any other similar donor cars that suitable hubs can be taken from? I may be looking to do a 256-312mm conversion in the future ![]() Steve

| Re: 312mm brakes Why would you say that the RS has a diffrent hub/bearing from the normal fabias. It all depends on the power-steering. If it is powered it has 72mm or else 66mm. So I think that the 2.0 has the same hubs as the RS, so there should be no dilemma about upgrading from 256 to 312 with the 72mm hub. Also, the brakes on the RS are Lucas and not ATE. PS: I did a little check further on. It seems that engine codes AZL,ASZ have different hub housings, but they have the same bearings-hubs. It may be a little offset, but with no implications to the brake upgrage, or so I think at the moment. Last edited by Akebono; 20-06-2006 at 16:38. |

| Re: 312mm brakes The difference is on cars with FSIII brakes you cant unbolt the caliper carrier so you cant change the calipers. There is no probs with changing the vRS/2.0 brakes as mentioned. You will need new bearings as they are just about impossible to get out of a carrier and be in a useable condition again. Last edited by Lummox; 20-06-2006 at 17:44. |

| Re: 312mm brakes Cheers for that. Ouch, that's a fair bit of cost, especially before you add the cost of the 312mm upgrade kit ![]() Oh well, at least I know now. Or it's down to finding a vRS that's being broken for parts... Steve
