Default £9000 trade in

Is it realistic to be getting 9k on a trade-in for a 05 vRS which has done 11500 miles, cruise, sunroof, seat storage boxes, 280 brakes but in excellent condition.
Got my dealer up to £8700, letting them stew over the weekend on it.

And it's RED

Skoda Fabia vRS
1.9TD Diesel 5-door Hatchback
6 Speed Manual Front Wheel Drive
Year: 2005 05
Mileage: 11,000

Estimated value of your car

Part-exchange Price:
Excellent condition:
£8940
Average condition:
£8140
Below average condition:
£7170

That's for a standard car , so one in mint condition with a couple of extras should be worth £9k.

of course the trade in figure on it's own isn't the important thing. If they are charging full list price for whatever else it is you buy then it's not a great deal

Hmm......trade in, perhaps, at a push. But the dealer would be wanting to make a few quid on it so may try knocking you down. Having said that, they are still selling well so you may get a desperate dealer wanting his hands on one.
Red ones will be harder to trade in I think. Silver seems to appeal to the dealers the best in terms of desirability. I'm not saying it's the best colour (even though I think it is.... ) I just think in terms of them selling it on they'll find it easier with a red car.

How come you're trading it in anyway, getting an SE or something?
Or perhaps an Octy II vRS....mmm.....

Bigger car required, now the kids are growing, been fun in the Fabia, but we knew it would have to be swapped soon. It's not two years old yet but done it's job well.

A nice car for the 2nd owner when it goes.

Bit more space than that,.................... a Touran !.

Forgot about the towbar fitted on the fabia for my bike rack. Detatchable westfalia and skoda wiring loom, cost me a fortune. Thule roofbars in the garage for it too. Looks like ebay will be getting a hammering when it goes.

I personally think £9,000 is a good price on Trade-In.

Yeah, I bought mine for 9k in January.....the dealer must've paid less than that for it when it was traded in I'd have thought, and that was for a silver one which were like rocking horse poo when I was looking.

£9k for a car less than 2 years old, which sells new for around £12k, sounds like a good deal to me. If you'd bought a Fiat, Alfa, Vauxhall, Ford, etc.... you'd have lost a lot more!

I'd agree that silver versions hold there value best. When I bought mine last year only red, yellow and black cars were available at sensible prices. The silver cars were all more expensive.
