| Briskodian | ABS problem??? Should there be any wheel lock at all under braking? There is a slight skid at low speed on my Vrs ,the warning lights all go out OK. This is the first car I have owned with ABS so sorry if it seems dim.... ![]() |

| Briskodian | I get that too, having never had an ABS car before too i am a bit puzzled. I'm guessing it takes the system a short time to come on or something like that! |

| ABS does not stop the wheels sliding, it just tries to prevent full lockup from continuing by effectively rapidly pumping the brakes. If the grip isn't there though, it will still lock. Also at speeds below about 15 mph IIRC it totally disengages.
