| Best open air filters e.g. induction kits Majority use the PD160 an replacement filter, but what about those that chose an induction kit? IIRC heat soak shouldnt matter as much with turbo'd cars as it takes in a lot of hot air anyways to spool turbo up? what do people think of the powertec, or best stick to pipercross or K&N?

| Re: Best open air filters e.g. induction kits Heat soak is a massive problem with turbo cars, this is why the induction kits for the golf and octavia mk1, come either with a surround to stop the the hot air getting into the intake, or they place the filter low down behind the battery away from the engine. dont forget that the air passes thorugh an intercooler before entering the engine, this helps cool the air but if the air is to hot to start with then performance will be affected.
