Post Chrome Door Handles

Hi All,

I wanted to share a piece of info with you all about chrome door handle covers.

I wanted a set for the Furby and did a little research. People seem to go for the Milotec items, so i gave Butts a call £45.96 inc postage plus VAT (i think)

These are plastic and i thought quite expensive, so i checked eBay.

Go to car parts and search 'Fabia Chrome Handles'

These are genuine metal with a deep chrome finish and cost £19.95 plus £12.00 p+p. They take a few weeks to come but they are superb quality, fit perfectly and look the dogs!

Why pay for plastic when you can have metal?

Now, where's the Solvel and a soft cloth?

I've seen the ones on e-bay but they looked a bit plasticky but from what you say if they're metal might get myself a set.

Mine were £30 from Butts and they are chrome on steel. Very very good quality. E bay ones are c.r.a.p

Mine are from Milotec and although they are not advertised as chrome, they are definately not plastic. iirc they are polished stainless steal.... excellent quality

Jesus, i was only speaking as i found.

In response to ChrisR, are you saying that Butts lied to me when i called them?

Do you think its a conspiracy to force me to buy products from eBay?

I haven't seen the Milotec products in the flesh so i can't possibly comment

Where did you see the ones i have?

In future i will forgo the research and speak to you as you are the fountain of all knowledge.

Well done...bravo

Bought mine off E-bay (for the Superb), never fitted them yet but they are actually fantastic quality and made of polished metal (not chrome covered plastic).

Cant decide wether to fit them or not, the handles are colour coded and my main reason for buying the handle covers and the bowl type things was to stop all the scratches that happen with peoples finger nails and rings etc, mines a taxi so the handles get alot of use.

Cant decide wether they will look sh*te on a white car though!!

They look good on any colour, better than the painted ones IMO

I don't think they'll look good on a white car, but I'm sure one of the photoshopping experts can knock up a pic for you

Anyone?

Oh and the actual handle covers, is the self adhesive backing actually strong enough to hold them on through repeated use? and dumb people who dont know how to operate a car door?

I get visions of people handing me the covers as they get in the car
