| Is the windscreen a semi-structural component of the Fabia chassis ? I tell you for why. I had the windscreen replaced two years ago after it split following stone impact on a motorway. All was well with the replacement until recently, when a click/squeak/pop began to be heard, only occasionally, from the bottom right-hand corner. It sounds as if the windscreen has detached from its mounting in that area. I've tried pressing it from the inside at this position but it seems secure. The noise only seems to occur on one occasion. when exiting a car park at work which is located at the bottom of a hill. To negoiate the exit, you have to make a rather sharp left turn (180 degrees) and at about half way through the turn the road begins to rise sharply to the left. This noise usually occurs half way through the turn. At this point, due othe camber of the road, the front suspension is compressed asymetrically, offside more than nearside, as it meets the rising hill, while the back suspension is relatively unloaded as the back wheels are on the level car park. I'm wondering whether this manoeuvre is slightly twisting the chassis, sufficient to either detach the windscreen or at least make one edge move around in its mastic ? - Will the bond material still be fluid after this time ? Or is it another component making the noise ? Grateful for any views. Nick, 17/04/08
