Dipped beam headlight adjustment

Hi,
I recently fitted new higher-spec lightbulbs in the headlights - they're great, but I constantly get flashed by oncoming cars at night as the dipped beam is now to high. I've tried adjusting them using the roller switch on the dash, but the adjustment is insufficient.

Any ideas? Can I adjust them myself, or is it a garage job? Many thanks for any advice.

Re: Dipped beam headlight adjustment

Hello.

I did the very same as you and got the same response from drivers. Certainly done the right thing in buying the bulbs.

I took my car to a local MOT test centre who used the proper beam setting equipment to adjust them properly.

Shouldn't cost too much and some won't mind you watching them do it. Think I paid £5 last time. My experience with my particular dealer where this job was concerned was very poor. In fact the guy who set them up properly said that they were "all over the shop".

Hope this helps.

Re: Dipped beam headlight adjustment

Funny thing - I recently got my car and I'm sure the previous owner put new super-strength bulbs in it. It's like driving a car with Xenons. I also get flashed. Will have them looked at when the car goes for it's service soon.
