This is a discussion on Fabia vRS 3 door within the Fabia I forums, part of the Skoda Model Discussion Area category; did a quick shop of mine as an experiment really, still think it looks good as a five door though...

| I must admit I've never seen the attraction of 3-door hatches. There don't seem to be any advantages. |

| i agree pref 5 door motors to three door ones far more practical, i am getting a company car end of december and have ordered the new bmw 120d five door for this reason, still keeping the furby as mrs car though and finally getting rid of her biscuit tin on wheels (saxo vtr)

| The five doors were the reason I bought a Fabia. To get a five door Polo, you have to pay well over the odds, but the Skoda soes it as standard. I think that's what makes the Fabia 1 the best value supermini there is.

| 5 doors is partly the reason i changed my car to a furby. i need it so it makes it easier to fit a car seat for my daughter. the 5 door ibiza looks ungainly imo.

| Never seen the point in a 5 door Fabia vRS, Still bought one though, didn't no where to spend my money. Cramped in the back, and having sat as a passenger in the back of my own car, I felt a million miles higher than the driver and front passenger. Too too cramped! |

| Has that photochop shortened the car as well, or has the front door merely been stretched a bit to give that illusion. I would happily have a 3 door as I rarely have my back seats in anyway. They're back in my bedroom again at the moment. I really can feel when they're not in the car though....

| Nice work BTW, but for me the car seems to have lost its character; it seems to lack the presence and proportions of the 5-door. But what about an estate / sportswagon version a la Subaru, with the roofline extend and the existing spoiler as is? The rear lights would need to be vertical and there would be an extra vertical shutline for the tailgate in rear quarter-panel, I think. Just a thought. I had an Impreza Sportwagon and it was a heck of a car. |

| the door is enlarged and the rear 1/4 shrunk as 3drs normally are. the car remains the same overall length

| looks good, think it may need a more swooping waist line to get away with the 3 doors |

| I quite like it as a 3 door. My last couple of cars were three doors and I preferred them because it gave the cars a sporty stance but the fabia carries of the sporty stance of the Vrs. David |

| I like 3 doors (at least on smaller cars) because it means that the seat belt and pillar are actually behind me so the belt is in the correct position. Also means when you do a shoulder check, you're not staring at the pillar! Oh, and they look better and weigh less ![]() Chris

| I agree there with you there mate about the pillar, the girlfriend finds reversing the VRS a pain in the butt, I don't notice but see your point that you have made there. David |
